NANTWICH 0 CLITHEROE 5
CLITHEROE hotshots Lee Cryer and Neil Spencer were at it again as the Ribble Valley outfit cruised to their best away win of the season.
Cryer and Spencer scored a brace apiece to take their respective goals tallies to 22 and 17.
It was all too much for a young and inexperienced Nantwich and Jason Jones also got in on the scoring act.
Coming on the back of four straight home defeats, the win was a bit tonic for manager Dave Burgess.
"With the Vase coming up at the weekend, this was the perfect preparation.
"It was a professional performance and a big confidence booster. We played well and scored some great goals."
Cryer set Clitheroe on the way after 10 minutes and on the quarter hour Spencer added the second.
Nantwich tried hard to stem the flow of goals but three in 12 minutes midway through the second half through Jones (60), Cryer (71) and Spencer (72) sealed a fine victory.
Clitheroe stand fifth in the table seven points off leaders Salford but with five games in hand.
