QPR 1 BOLTON 1
SAM Allardyce was so incensed by the performance of referee Uriah Rennie he almost missed the point.
After watching his side reduced to 10 men through the 17th minute sending off of goalkeeper Steve Banks and a clear penalty turned away, the Bolton boss stormed: "The standard of refereeing was very very disappointing, to say the least."
It was an uphill battle for Wanderers from the moment Banks was given the red card for handballing outside his box so early in the proceedings leaving the visitors down to 10 men.
Worse was to follow when Michel Ngonge headed Rangers in front eight minutes into the second half.
But Bolton are nothing if not fighters and they didn't let frustration get the better of them.
Allardyce was furious that Rennie refused them a penalty when Bo Hansen appeared to be tripped for former Arsenal star Steve Morrow.
"I've never seen a clearer penalty in my career" stormed Allardyce.
But he was quick to credit his players for refusing to buckle and the reward came right at the death when Per Frandsen latched on to a pass from another Blackburn old boy Colin Hendry to snatched an equaliser and leave Bolton as Fulham's main challengers at the top of the First Division table.
