IN a smash and grab encounter, Leigh RMI in the U15 overcame the elements and their opponents with a little help from heaven above.
Chris Priest scored the winning goal with Matthew Didlick grabbing another while goalkeeper Heapy who has been in fine form all the season made some great saves to give Leigh the double over Lads Club.
The other games in the division saw Hindsford move back to the top with goals from Ridings and Newall in a plucky win over Bolton Celtic, who deserve some better luck. Their goalscorer was Andy Carr. Ladybridge and Oxford Grove fought out a strength sapping 3-3 draw.
In the U18, Deans move into second spot with an easy win over AFC Bolton.
The only game in the U16 Division saw Hindley move up the table after their recent win, with prolific goalscorer Tom Valentine grabbing a hat-trick. Only two games went ahead in the U14 with Bromley Cross and Bolton Eagles, who now move into second place, both notching up seven goals.
The U13 top of the table clash went in favour of Bromley Cross in a five goal thriller with Lads Club. In the same Division there were good wins for Bolton County, Hindley and Oxford Grove.
In a Jubilee Cup encounter Ladybridge had a great win over previously unbeaten Radcliffe A, with goals by Whittaker and Dawson two apiece, and solo efforts by Mather and Applegate.
Bolton County in the U12 LFA Cup came to an end in the semi final, but they have done themselves and their club proud with some outstanding performances.
In the League there were good wins for Hindley and Aspull, but the performance of the day and team of the week goes to Deans Youth, with their enthralling win over Lads Club, thanks to a Harry Hibbert hat-trick, that sees them leapfrog their opponents.
Bromley Cross U11 won their match of the day over Oxford Grove, which keeps them in pole position, with all three goals being scored by Matthew Ellis. AFC stay in contention with a good away win at County Comets, that saw Hughes grabbing a hat-trick.
The U11-14 Jubilee Cup draw to be held at YMCA, Deansgate, on Friday, February 9, at 7.45pm. All managers welcome.
