AN ardent Burnley fan from Accrington is asking for his money back after having the "worst view" at a football game he has ever had.
Ian Haworth has followed the Clarets home and away for 28 years in which time he has visited 96 different football stadiums.
On Saturday he faithfully followed Burnley to Gresty Road for the clash with Crewe Alexandra FC.
With six goals -- four from penalties -- the game has been described as remarkable. But thanks to a concrete pillar right in front of Ian the business advertising manager at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph missed most of it.
Now he has cried foul and is demanding his money back or at least moves to ensure other fans do not suffer the same problem.
Ian, of Westwood Street, Accrington, travelled to Crewe on Saturday with members of the Colne Clarets Supporters Group to watch the match, which Burnley lost 4-2.
The majority of the group had their view obstructed by the pillar with Ian, who paid £14 for his ticket in the Blue Bell BMW Stand, being the worst affected.
He said: "I can honestly say it was the worst seat I had ever had. I complained to the steward at the time but the tickets should have carried a warning about restricted view like some other grounds, which even charge less for them.
"If I wanted to see what was going on I kept having to move, I could not see a thing that was happening in the centre of the pitch."
The Prime Minister's official spokesman, Alistair Campbell, and the FA's David Davies, who were both at the match - and they had an unrestricted view!
Crewe Alexandra today apologised for their own goal and promised Ian a full refund if he sends his ticket back.
A spokesman added: "We have had some complaints in the past about that pillar but we have only been using that stand as an away end for just over a year. Next season there should be a warning on the ticket."
