CUSTOMERS at the Royal Hotel in Waterfoot have raised £10,000 in the last three years for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
The latest cheque for £2,500 was handed over by licensee Maria Stannard to Mavis Butler, chairman of Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale area of the charity.Said Mrs Butler: "I would like to say a big thank you to Maria, her son Paul and his wife Judith, and all the customers, for raising this tremendous amount.
"The cash will help to pay for two extra Macmillan nurses for Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale." Mrs Stannard's latest money-raising venture for the Macmillan charity is bingo every Thursday evening.
