A NEW way of learning using the "information superhighway" has been officially launched in Pendle.
The area's first "learndirect" workshop is based in Nelson and Colne College's DISC (Drop In Skills Centre) centre at Linden Road Business Centre, Colne. Learndirect allows people to learn new skills using the internet and learning centres.
Learndirect manager Peter Maltby said: "Some people may be happy to study at home - or even in the workplace as many of the learning options are based around work-related skills - but DISC is a recognised learndirect centre where students can access computers and the relevant website.
"It is ideal for people who don't have a computer at home or who are net novices who would benefit from some help from trained staff."
