CHERNOBYL children's champion Olwyn Keogh is to talk to fund-raisers about her work.
Mrs Keogh, of Wilpshire, national director of the Friends of Chernobyl's Children, will present an illustrated talk on the work of the charity, which relieves the suffering of children affected by the nuclear disaster 14 years ago.
Knowle Green Congregational Church, which raised £170 for the charity during its Christmas carol service, is supporting the talk by Mrs Keogh at the village hall.
The charity offers family placements in the area for groups of children from Belarus, to give them a break away from lingering contamination. They stay with their host family for around a month and are treated to a medical check as well.
The event starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday February 7. Admission is £3.50 and includes a supper and raffle. Proceeds to the charity.
