PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice will be dropping in at the Open Door Centre in Colne tomorrow to talk about funding issues.
The scheme is run by Colne Churches Together as a drop-in and welfare centre. The project also provides food, clothing and furniture for people in need and has also been used by local organisations including the Princes Trust, Marriage Care and the Lighthouse Pregnancy Crisis project.
Mr Prentice said: "The centre performs a splendid service for the local community. They will be opening new premises for a furniture recycling centre shortly and I will be keen what other projects they have come up with since my last visit in November 1999. "
The MP added: "f-zf+z at the centre and seeing for myself they work they do.
"I will also be discussing with the staff the whole subject of funding grants and how the rather complicated system of applying for applying for money could be simplifiedf-z."
