SPORTS students from Preston College flew out to Lanzarote today (Thursday) to train at one of the world's most revered training venues.
Club La Santa is run as a modern complex with all the facilities of a combined sports, holiday and conference resort.
The sports and fitness facilities are deemed so good that professional athletes -- including Olympic champions, World champions and Word record holders -- from all over the world go there to train.
And now several star students from the college have got the chance to reap the benefits the centre offers.
Danny Massaro, the trip organiser, said: "If Club La Santa was a country it would have excelled and featured high up in the medals at last year's Sydney Olympics.
"British athletes and Olympic gold medallists Jonathon Edwards and Denise Lewis, and silver medallist Steve Backley were just three who train regularly at the venue.
"Our scholarship students will have the opportunity to train with the best using first-class facilities.
"Many of our students have already made quite a name for themselves on the national and international stage."
He added: "Hopefully, it won't be long before we see some of them on Club La Santa's legendary Hall of Fame."
