Lytham Ladies 1st XI 6 Darwen & Blackburn 1 JOHN Pearson, the Lytham coach, commented that "not even Jane Sixsmith, of Olympic fame and ten other Internationals could stop captain Michelle Singleton marshalling het side right from the first whistle." This was praise indeed for a team who were late with their warm up. Gradually, however, they got into their stride although Blackburn took the lead from a penalty corner. This really stirred Lytham into action and Heidi Whitehead then rounded off a great solo effort but flicking the ball over the diving keeper into the net. Lytham were two up at half-time and put up a spirited display against a very physical team. Early in the second half Whitehead added her second as Lytham continued to dominate. Kelly Gore never stopped running down the right wing and scored a good goal. Lian Atkinson found the net half way through the second half and then scored again to complete the rout. The opposition scored a consolation goal towards the end and Lytham missed a penalty stroke. Ruth Blackburn was the other scorer in a super team performance.

LSA Ladies 2nd XI lost 2-1 to Rossall 1st XI with Lisa Brown perfroming superbly in goal. The Ladies 3rd XI were beaten 3-1 by Springfields 4th XI as they struggles with only ten men. Player of the match was Vicky Nickson.
