YMCA A U10s 2 SOUTH SHORE A 1; YMCA B U10s 3 SOUTH SHORE B 1 YMCA gave their championship ambitions a boost with this four point haul against their closest challengers. In the A game a double-strike from Jordan Douthwaite edged YMCA to victory. In the B game goals from Max Rothwell, Alex Walkden and Adam Whiteside ensured victory. This result now opens up a 14-point lead for leaders YMCA over second placed Shore.
YMCA U12s 5 SPIRIT OF YOUTH 0 WITH the wind at their backs YMCA produced a whirl-wind start scoring five times in the opening 20 minutes. Andy Zeal netted twice, Adam Stewart fired home a superb 20-yard free kick with Nicky Vann and Danny Donovan also on target. It was 5-0 at the break and despite facing the elements YMCA continued to carve out chances. Edward Cam was outstanding.
YMCA U14s 2 SPIRIT OF YOUTH 0 YMCA took the lead from a Scott Park penalty and a Sean Atkinson strike made it 2-0 after just 15 minutes. YMCA failed to add to their score. Andy Harvie was outstanding in midfield. KIRKHAM JFC U15s 5 YMCA 0 YMCA had the elements in their favour in the first half but found the home defence in resolute form. Kirkham snatched a fifteen minute lead and it remained 1-0 at the break. Deputy YMCA keeper Sam Branston made three impressive saves but the home side were presented with a second goal. In deteriorating conditions Kirkham added three late goals. Ben Marks in midfield and David Day were outstanding.
YMCA U17s 2 SPIRIT OF YOUTH 1 MARK Tinkler and Andy Tracey both netted to put YMCA in a good position but the visitors reduced the score. Facing the elements in the second half excellent defending thwarted the visitors efforts at saving the game. Stand in keeper Anthony Fecitt was outstanding with Adam Albrecht notable.
