AFTER reading your story about houses being knocked down in Walton-le-Dale to make way for a huge shopping complex, I felt disgusted (Citizen, January 25).

I find it outrageous that developers could have offered £2,000 to some residents so they could safeguard the houses for themselves.

This should not be allowed to happen and instead of being "concerned" Mark Hendrick MP should be investigating this.

Up and down the country property developers are eating up land to build new houses. It's about time someone did something to stop major housing development in this area which is causing fat cats to get fatter.
