AS the mother of five healthy children I'm glad that my youngsters have never had to attend hospital for more than a cut knee after falling off their bike.
But for the parents involved in the organs scandal they must really regret taking their children to hospital in the first place.
It is absolutely outrageous that this has happened and my deepest sympathy goes to the parents and their families affected by this crisis.
The Citizen's pictures featured in the newspaper last week really brought this tragedy home to me and I couldn't help but cry when I read the enormity of this situation.
To think that these little children, and others like them, have been mutilated in this way. It is so unbearable and an act which shows a total lack of care and respect for the parents or the dead children involved.
We trust doctors to do their best for us whether it is during treatment or after death. I doubt that there is a parent alive who feels uncomfortable about going into hospital now that they've heard about the organs scandal.
The doctor(s) responsible need striking off immediately and should never be allowed to practice medicine again, in this country or abroad.
If I find this nightmare horrifying, goodness knows what the parents and families must be going through -- I know I'd be devastated if it happened to one of mine.
