POLICE cars are losing their go-faster stripes in favour of high-visibility "Battenberg" designs.
All Lancashire Constabulary cars are to be painted with large blue and yellow squares between the door trim and windows, replacing the old red stripes.
The design is based on the motorway and road policing vehicles which have the Battenberg design over the entire car.
Ian Butterworth, administration manager for Lancashire Constabulary, said: "Battenberg livery is the most eye-catching and gives enhanced visibility to police vehicles."
