YOUNG people are being invited to go on a 'blind date' with a book at Newton-le Willows library as part of Valentine's Day promotion.
As part of the Reading Lifelines initiative, which encourages 16 to 25 year-olds to take a greater interest in books, a giant balloon love heart, made by students from St Helens College, welcomes borrowers to the Valentine display where all the books are wrapped, concealing their titles.
On selecting a book and taking it to the counter, borrowers will discover which 'blind date' book they have chosen.
They will also have the chance to enter a free prize draw to win one of two pairs of Cinema tickets provided by UCI Cinemas.
And all borrowers will receive a free packet of Love Hearts sweets courtesy of Swizzles Matlow. Winning tickets will be drawn on Valentine's Day, Wednesday, February 14.
