ON Friday, February 16, pupils at Nugent House will be changing their uniform for a very special reason - to change lives.
They'll join schools all over the country as they take part in the UNICEF Day for change, National Non-uniform Day.
It's the one day of the year when pupils can wear any clothes they choose... from football kits to fancy dress. In doing so, they'll raise money to help change the lives of children growing up alone in Romania and Uganda.
This year children's TV presenter Johnny Ball is supporting the UNICEF Day for Change , and he urges children to take part: "Thousands of kids in Romania and Uganda may be the same age as you, but the similarity stops there. They have no luxuries and no support - they probably don't even have what you'd call a school. Leave your uniform at home for a today, show them they have your friendship. Dress as you please, and give a donation to UNICEF on National Non-uniform Day."
