THREE weeks ago seven-year old Marc Witton was really down in the dumps when the scooter he was given as a Christmas present was stolen... but now thanks to a little help from The St Helens Star and Scottish Power, he is all smiles again.
Scottish Power in King Street, St Helens, have generously donated a silver scooter-rider model GES 8110 to the value of £30 after reading about little Marc's plight in the Star..
Marc had his original silver and blue coloured mini scooter taken from outside the Tartan Tea Rooms, where his mum works, on Saturday, January 13.
Karen, a single mother of three from Derby Drive, Rainford, said: "The generosity of Scottish Power is unbelievable. When Marc had his mini scooter stolen he was heartbroken, but now he can look forward to playing on his new model."
Denise Carden, manager, Scottish Power, said: "We are delighted to offer this scooter to Marc. The idea of putting a smile back on his face made all the effort worthwhile."
