A ROADSHOW is being launched to set up more carer support groups across the borough.
The St Helens branch of the Carers National Association has teamed up with the local Health Promotion Team and Primary Care Groups to set up special teams to give carers the chance to share their own experiences and receive help and advice.
Following the success of groups already set up in Rainford, Haydock, Sutton and St Helens town centre, a series of roadshows have now been organised across the borough as part of the''Making a Difference for Carers' campaign, which aims to set up more carer groups.
People with carer responsibilities are invited to go along to find out what help is available and to create a support group to suit their needs.
Jane Dearden, chair of the St Helens branch of the Carers National Association, said: "It is extremely important we help carers become more aware of their own role and status in the community and these groups are the first step in achieving this."
