I WAS standing near a bus stop in Manchester Road, Leigh, near the Green Lane roundabout on Monday morning. It was the usual scenario -- upturned litter bin with rubbish strewn about and half eaten food.
A man came up pushing a pram and righted the bin, returned the litter and salvaged some pie so he could feed the birds.
How good it was to see someone who saw a problem and cared enough to do something about it.
