HELPING to keep a cool head!
That's a Bury company which is making sure that Timothy Taylor cask ales transported to Scotland arrive in prime condition.
It's thanks to a new cooling system installed in one of their national delivery lorries by Zanotti Refrigeration (ATP).
Zanotti, located at the Bury Business Centre in Kay Street, supplied and fitted the cooling unit which was specified through Air Truck Bodies of Shelburn in Elmet, near Leeds.
The unit had to be specially adapted to fit under the body of the wagon and Zanotti duly obliged.
As well as the under mount appliance, which cost more than £8,000, the vehicle upgrade also incorporated temperature managed curtains, body panels and corporate livery.
Commenting on the installation, Zanotti Refrigeration operations director Trevor Knight said: "As far as I'm aware, this is the first time we have produced a cooling unit for a beer lorry.
"We had to carry out extensive tests on the beer to ensure the delivery temperature of 12 degrees celcius was just right. It's tough, but somebody had to do it."
Timothy Taylor's transport supervisoor Paul Marklew added: "Everyone knows the Scots invented keg beers but given the choice many still prefer a decent pint of traditional English ale."
Zanotti Refrigeration (ATP) Ltd is part of the multi-national Italian Zanotti Organisation, manufacturers of industrial refrigeration and cooling appliances.
