GRAPHIC images of life at the turn of the century are an important part of local social history captured gloriously through the lens of pioneer photographer The Rev William Wickham.
The Wigan clergyman's legacy will be highlighted by archivist and accomplished photographer Len Hudson next Tuesday when he addresses Atherton Heritage Society.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm in St Richard's Jubilee Hall off Mayfield Street. Admission is £1 for members, £1.50 for noon members.
The society is offering annual membership at £3 with future meetings planned to examine the Cotton Queen contests of the 30s, the days when Roman legions passed through Atherton and working life in Salford.
