LEIGH Euro MP Terry Wynn has visited Serbia to assess the war-torn country's needs. Mr Wynn, chairman of the budgets committee, was part of a small delegation on a fact finding mission on how help can be given to return the country to the safe holiday haven it used to be.
He said: "I'll be meeting people from the World Bank, reconstruction agencies and Serbs at local level and looking at such things as education and energy needs."
Terry added: "Without EU aid the Western Balkan s would never have a chance to be rebuilt. I look forward to the day when Leigh families are flying to the holiday resorts in this region as they once did. It may take some time, but we are committed to it."
