TWO men who ran a "successful and profitable drugs shop" from a house in Tyldesley selling thousands of pounds worth of heroin and crack cocaine have been jailed for a total of 11 years.

Derek Boardman and Christopher Morris, both of Elliott Street, sold drugs with a total street value of £32,000 to various callers, including an undercover police officer, over a 10 week period.

Boardman went to Liverpool to buy heroin and crack cocaine and Morris helped to sell the drugs to junkies to make money and to feed his own habit.

Boardman, 45, who had three previous convictions for drugs, was jailed for six years at Bolton Crown Court. Morris, 29, who had no convictions for drugs offences, was jailed for five years.

Undercover police watched the house in Elliot Street on several occasions between July 6 and September 20 last year and saw scores of visitors enter before coming out again a few minutes later.

An undercover police officer, "PC Dave", visited the flat and bought two wraps of heroin for £20. While inside he saw 10 bags of brown powder lying on the bed.

The flat was raided on September 19 and both men were arrested.

Found inside were drug dealing material such as a spoon with traces of brown powder, bank bags, corner bags and foil, along with £55 cash, two mobile phones and a wrap of powder on Boardman.

Both admitted their part in dealing the drugs and said they made between £100 and £200 profit a day.

Passing sentence Recorder David Aubrey QC said the men had run a successful and profitable drugs shop over a period of 10 weeks.
