Bury face a daunting trip to promotion candidates Walsall, t unbeaten at home this season.
The Shakers, though they beat the Saddlers comfortably at Gigg Lane in September, have lost their last eight away games.
But victory over Peterborough last week was a huge boost.
Liverpool loanee Jon Newby, who scored in that game, offers a good deal more than Bury have had on show during their perilous run towards the lower reaches.
The reshaped midfield with playmaker Baichung Bhutia, protected by skipper Nick Daws and Paul Reid, has a classy look to it, and from which striker Newby, and partner manager Andy Preece can only benefit.
Defender Chris Swailes is the latest casualty to be sidelined from an extended spell, and so Sam Collins will keep his place in an otherwise unchanged starting line up.
