BRAVE youngster Lauren Richmond spent the weekend in London collecting her child of achievement award after doctors gave her the all-clear.
Leukaemia sufferer Lauren, six, of Taylor Street, Barnoldswick, feared she may not be able to attend the ceremony after she was taken to St James' Hospital, in Leeds, with a suspected infection.
But the Coates Lane Primary School pupil was given the all clear by doctors on Saturday morning and made the trip to London with her mum, Louise, and her grandma and grandad.
Headteacher Sue Holloway, who nominated Lauren for the award said today: "I'm really glad she was able to go.
The family have even stayed an extra day because Lauren really wanted to see the Tower Bridge."
She described Lauren as one of the most remarkable children she had ever met and someone who always had a smile on her face despite her illness.
