LANCASHIRE County councillors have welcomed moves to ban bogus home-working schemes which have conned hundreds of local people.
A bill has been introduced in Parliament to outlaw upfront fees for finding work and widespread advertising of vaguely-described work with high earnings.
A survey in Lancashire two years ago found 60 bogus schemes, and trading standards officers have received hundreds of complaints about them.
Coun Chris Cheetham said the council had long campaigned to ban them and said: "I am asking all Lancashire MPs to support this attempt."
