THE St Helens Schools Primary team travelled to Victoria Park, Warrington for a league game and scored a 3-0 win to follow up their narrow cup success of the week before.
Ben Foster (Haydock English Martyrs) opening the scoring for St Helens and was then hauled down in the area. The Warrington keeper saved the penalty from Martin Seddon (Haydock English Martyrs) but he reacted smartly to poke in the rebound to give St Helens a 2-0 half-time lead.
The second half was always going to be a battle against the wind but St Helens defended well to keep Warrington to a few half-chances before Martin Seddon finished off a great move with a deft chip over the advancing keeper.
Man-of-the-match was Oliver Mitchell who was inspirational in midfield.
This Saturday the Primary Team travel to league leaders, Wirral, kick-off 10.30 am at West Kirkby FC.
