ACCRINGTON Stanley have received a grant of more than £80,000 to develop the Crown Ground as on and off the field they begin building for promotion to the Conference next season.
The Reds, currently in the UniBond Premier Division, were told they will receive £81,787 from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund yesterday.
The money will be used to carry on the work already started on the East End Terrace, to provide cover for the main stand and upgrade the existing floodlights.
"It's absolutely brilliant," said Stanley manager John Coleman.
"It shows what an ambitious club we are. We've been developing the ground, using our own funds, so any help we receive is a huge boost.
"We can get the ground to Conference standards now I've got to concentrate on getting the team there now!"
He continued: "The developments will make the ground look even more impressive and it will be a good environment to work in.
"The pitch is already the envy of most of the teams in the Premier League.
"The good thing at Stanley as well is we've continued the work on the ground but not at the detriment of the team, we have got the right balance.
"Everything is rosy."
