REGARDING the new sculptures depicting the growth of cotton (LET, February 7), does anything in Blackburn meet with Jeffrey Stone's approval?
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph, too, seems to find it justifiable to seek the consent of moaning Jeffrey at every opportunity.
Mr Stone has said that he is 'unimpressed' by the designs and that there is enough heritage in Blackburn for it to have come up with something better than this.
What on earth are these, Mr Stone? Our town's history is steeped in the cotton industry. It is very doubtful that the town would have developed into the thriving bustling trading centre it is, but for the cotton industry.
Or is it just sour grapes? After all, Mr Stone was and is completely against our town in moving on as we know from by his much-publicised rejection of the Church Street redevelopment.
For pity's sake, man, stop moaning and look on the positive side for once.
GRAHAM BRISCAL, Preston New Road, Blackburn.
