AN East Lancashire family is still in the heartbreaking position of not knowing how their soldier son died near Buckingham Palace.
Results of a toxicology test could take another week which means the post mortem examination results for 22-year-old Scots Guard Martin Rimmer, of St Mary's Street, Clitheroe, remain inconclusive.
An inquest into the death of the soldier, who was found dead at London's Wellington Barracks on Sunday morning, was opened and adjourned to a later date.
Five guardsmen from the 1st Battalion to which he was attached have been questioned and released following the death.
His parents John and Pat Rimmer, of St Paul's Street, are understood to have requested a full military honours funeral.
