A NATIONAL chain of franchise operations aimed at providing private carers for a wide range of clients has launched a scheme in Blackburn.
Chester-based SureCare provides staff to clients from individuals to social service departments and nursing homes to look after people who can not look after themselves.
The Blackburn operation, which follows the launch of a similar scheme in Burnley last year, is managed by Gul Ahmed. It was launched by the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Coun Jack Bury.
"Our clients are anyone who needs help," he said. "That can range from someone who just needs somebody to come in for an hour a day perhaps to the disabled or mentally handicapped who need constant attention. We provide fully qualified and trained carers."
Mr Ahmed said demand for SureCare's services was growing at between 17 and 18 per cent a year. It is predicted half the population will be of pensionable age in 30 years.
