THE People's Dispensary For Sick Animals, which has a charity shop in Prescot, is appealing for donations of good-quality toys.
The charity's national retail manager, Andy Timmins, said: "Now is the ideal time to spring-clean the toy box. PDSA shops are looking for good-quality games, jigsaws, cuddly toys etc. Every item donated will make a difference."
The PDSA is Britain's number one veterinary charity, carrying out 1.3 million free treatments on sick and injured pets every year. Last year the PDSA's veterinary services cost £25.7 million, funded entirely by public support.
Volunteers are also essential. For further information on local activities contact the PDSA shop at 20/20A Eccleston Street, Prescot, Merseyside, L34 5QE, tel. 0151 426 4009.
