SEVERAL firms are interested in taking over a Rossendale packaging company which is currently being run by administrators.
Begbies Traynor, of Manchester, cut the workforce at Valley Supply Company, Stacksteads, from 50 to between 30 and 35 three weeks' ago.
Today, joint administrator Paul Stanley said: "We are still talking to potential buyers and I have a meeting with two on Monday.
"These are people from all over the North West who have similar businesses and who are interested in taking over the business as a going concern.
"At the moment, we are still making sales and getting orders out and we have some money left."
The corrugated and solid board packaging company, based at Farholme Lane, had come under increasing pressure and was unable to meet all its liabilities.
If no buyer can be found, a meeting of creditors will be held within three months, at which point the administrators will present their proposals to the creditors concerning the company's future.
