I COMPLAINED (Letters, February 1, 2000) about the Accrington Road area of Blackburn being an utter disgrace but the back streets and the front have gone worse. Nothing has been done.
Why haven't the public health people or someone from the council been to see the state of things?
Rats have been seen in the back streets and on the front there is a bus shelter, no longer in use, which people are just using as a dump for bottles, beer cans and chip papers.
It is near my front door and I have to move this rubbish and put it in the bin to keep the place tidy.
If the council did its job properly and moved this shelter, this would not happen.
It has not been in use now for at least 12 months, but all the council have done is to cut the electricity off to the shelter's lighting.
J LIVESEY (Mr), Accrington Road, Blackburn.
