TOWN centre shoppers can help themselves to free health advice on Friday (Feb16).
Nurses from the Bury NHS Walk In Centre will be in the Mill Gate Shopping Centre to explain what the facility offers and give information and advice about health concerns.
The centre, on Parsons Lane, offers instant access without an appointment to information and treatment by experienced NHS nurses. It is open from 7am-10pm Monday to Friday and 9am-10pm on weekends and Bank Holidays.
Janet Hall, lead nurse at the NHS Walk in Centre, said: ""We will be available in the Mill Gate Centre to let passers-by know about this important service.
"The centre, which is nurse led, is complementary to family doctor services and a valuable way of gaining access to health advice without having to rearrange normal schedules.
"We will be encouraging all types of people to come along to the centre if they are unsure about any health matter.
"It is open from early in the morning and therefore convenient for workers and families as no appointment is needed. People can just call in. It is especially handy for the elderly".
The centre is on 18 Parsons Lane and new directional signs will be erected on The Rock to make it easier to find. People can visit the centre for advice and treatment for colds, cuts, skin complaints, muscle aches, stomach complaints, women's problems, minor infections and contraception.
