Preston Grasshoppers 15 Camberley 21 HOPPERS are staring relegation in the face following a dismal display at Camberley.
The Surrey club closed the gap on Hoppers to three points leaving them perilously close to the drop from National League Two.
Things started promisingly for Preston after an error by the visitors let them in with a penalty in the second minute.
Yet it was a day of handling errors for the home side and, with the forwards being turned over far too much, Preston were found wanting in the middle of the park.
To be fair, Preston's only saving grace was their grit and determination which got them back within six points after being 16-3 down at half-time.
Camberley struck in the second half -- Mike Blakeburn stealing over with Preston dithering at the back.
Preston Grasshoppers have two weeks to recover from a dismal show at home before their next match, with next Saturday's Lancashire Cup trip to Blackburn followed by a weekend off.
