Lytham won 3-2 on penalties. A brace of goals from Stephen Ryan gave Juniors the lead in game one. In the second a perfectly executed lob from Alec Foulds achieved the aggregate draw. The tie was decided upon sudden death penalties with Alec Foulds again on the scoresheet and Dan Stones converting both of his spot kicks to put Lytham into the quarter.
YMCA U11s 1 LYTHAM JUNIORS 2
JAMES Edgar went close for Lytham with a shot from the edge of the area, while Paul Burton had to display quality handling and positioning skills to keep the YMCA forwards at bay. After 15 minutes a fine move involving David Halton and Sean Cross saw James Butler's shot deflect passed the YMCA's keeper. The home side hit back and good wing play saw an equaliser five minutes before the break. The second half produced more quality football. Another terrific David Halton run saw a goalmouth scramble, Adrian Hoyle had his shot blocked on the line before Adam Butterworth smashed the loose ball into the net.
