BOTTOM club Kettering were crushed by a rampant Morecambe side on Saturday afternoon with hot-shot John Norman netting his third hat-trick in four games.
It's the Shrimps first league win of 2001 and helps ease them up the table away from the drop zone.
To begin with the home side were up for a battle and Niall Inman saw a good shot well saved and a long distance effort go the wrong side of the post.
Typical of a team down on their luck, Morecambe's first was a bit soft as Colin Hunter used his shin to loop the ball over the keeper.
Then Mark Quayale got his foot to a good cross to make it two.
Kettering were awarded an unexpected penalty which saw them get immediately back in the game but ten minutes after the interval John Norman got his first to kill off the game. Kettering resolve vanished and their goal became a sitting duck and it was Nomran who proved to be the expert marksman. He scored a predatory goal in the 55th minute then put the icing on the cake of an unbelievable week in the 80th minute when he picked up on another rebound to poke the ball home.
Team: Smith, Fensome, Lyons, McKearney, Murphy, Walters, Lee, Drummond, Quayle, Norman, Hunter.
