BIG-HEARTED baker Waterfields urged local customers to help raise dough for needy children. As part of National Doughnut Week the independent bakery chain took part in a nationwide charity extravaganza to generate funds for Save the Children. Waterfields pledged a sixpenny donation for every doughnut they sold during the week. Money raised will be used to help children suffering from the effects of poverty, ill health and conflict in 70 countries around the world -- including Britain. Over the past nine years Waterfields' customers have contributed to the £370,000 raised nationally.
