ANDREA McFarlane smashed a glass door panel at the flat she had shared with a former boyfriend after going round to collect her mail.
Blackburn magistrates heard that the couple started to argue and, after the door had been shut in her face, McFarlane lashed out.
McFarlane, 25, of Norfolk Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and failing to answer bail. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, fined £25 and ordered to pay £40 compensation and £50 costs.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said the relationship between McFarlane and Martin Smalley had been at times mutually supportive and at others mutually destructive.
"The difficulty on this occasion revolved around the fact that her mail was still going to their former address in Carr Road," added Mr Blacklidge.
