VOLUNTEERS are needed to mentor young people in Leigh.
Tasks would involve passing on experience of working life to teenagers and young adults to help them get into work.
The Government's New Deal Mentoring Service is looking for people of any age to give advice and support for the town's young jobless to beat the trap of unemployment.
Mentors are ordinary people who will meet with New Deal clients for about half an hour a week and help prepare them for work.
They offer support on tasks such as as completing application forms and interview techniques.
Mentors will receive free training and ongoing support from the mentoring service co-ordinator.
For more information about the mentoring service contact Rebecca Austin or Jill Rogerson on 0161 787 8686.
