I AM writing regarding your article on the death of Karla Selley (Citizen, Feb 8).
You quote that Dr Alun Williams quoted Karla's heart was a "ticking time bomb". That quote came from the defence council who were trying to get Dr Williams to agree with their point of view.
The other point is the reference to it being said that the abnormality was said to be able to cause death in patients while under general anaesthetic, is untrue. Professor Aikenhead said he found no record anywhere in the world of this condition ever causing death while under general anaesthetic.
This article misinterpretated the facts and has caused great upset to the family of Karla.
