YOUNGSTERS in a Fylde theatre group were bitterly disappointed when gremlins struck as they performed their 21st annual revue.
Video equipment broke down which meant that the show by Sue Turner's Fylde Theatre Group at the Pavilion Theatre was not recorded for posterity.
But big-hearted Leisure Parcs bosses stepped in and offered the troupe a second chance with a one-off show on the stage of the Opera House this Sunday night.
Sue told The Citizen: "It was very disappointing for the children who had been looking forward to this special memento of their evening and we are delighted that Leisure Parcs stepped in and saved the day.
"Also it gives us another chance to raise money for the haematology unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital which is a cause very close to my heart. My mother died of leukaemia ten years ago and it's my way of saying thank you to the team who looked after her so well. "We like to buy new equipment with the funds then we can really see where our money has gone. We have bought microscopes, a special treatment chair and blood machines and at the moment we are trying to buy more scanners for the department then patients wouldn't have to travel to Preston."
The busy bunch went to the London Palladium in November and intend to go back in July to showcase their Northern talent.
Sue added: "When we last went I was amazed at the standard of young talent around in this part of the country and think we can be proud of ourselves.
"And we are always on the lookout for new members so anyone interested should call 354868."
Catch Sue's talented troupe which includes children as young as three-and-a-half to 25 year olds at Blackpool Opera House in the 2001 Revue on Sunday night from 7.15pm.
