A GROUP of community representatives have been given a cash boost so they can attend a national conference that has the Royal seal of approval.
Five delegates from the holistic resources part of Rossendale Hospice, have been awarded £250 from the Action for Haslingden Partnership to attend the event at Burnley Football Club.
Organised by the Rossendale Hospice and supported by Prince Charles, the conference will be on ground-breaking treatment for people with life-threatening illnesses.
About 175 staff from the health service and hospice movement across Britain are expected to attend to discuss topics such as aromatherapy, reflexology and the hypno-chemo programme.
The hospice won recent acclaim from the Foundation for Integrated Medicine for pioneering work in complementary medicine and health authority partnership.
Dorothy Mitchell, chairman of Rossendale Hospice, said: "The conference will raise awareness of the importance of working together for the benefit of patients, through integrated complementary and medical treatment.
"Research carried out on complementary therapies at Rossendale Hospice has been shown to be effective in the reduction of cancer treatment side effects."
