BUBBLY Laura Jaye is hoping to become the next presenter on GMTV's children's programme Diggit.
The Blackburn-born teenager has got through to the final 20 out of 9,000 hopefuls and viewers today saw just how she did it!
The programme, on from 7am to 9am, showed in 'Popstars' style how the wannabe's were whittled down in a series of gruelling auditions. Laura, now lives in Bispham Road, Blackpool. Her real name is Duckworth but is now only known by her stage name of Jaye. Her father John is a former editor of the Blackburn Citizen and her mother Pam used to teach at St Matthew's and Lammack primary schools. She said: "I was one of 138 invited to go for audition at York and from that just two of us were picked to be in the final 20."
Next Sunday Laura and her mum will travel to London for the next stage of the auditions when 20 become six.
