A 23-YEAR-old man currently serving a prison sentence was given another three months when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates and pleaded guilty to two offences of obtaining property by deception.
The court heard that Clint Wilson Taylor had obtained a DVD player and a mobile phone from Comet on the Whitebirk Estate and then tried to obtain two DVD players from Scottish Power using the same stolen credit card.
Paul Schofield, defending, said at the time of the offences Taylor's benefit had been suspended and he was without money. He bumped into a man he had previously met in prison who said he had just acquired a Visa card.
Taylor agreed to use it and having obtained the property from Comet handed it over to the man in return for the card.
"When the police arrived the other man had gone and my client was left to carry the can," said Mr Schofield.
