ORGANISERS of the Extra Mile Appeal hope their latest money-making event will take them one step nearer their goal of building a church and community centre in Nelson.
A Grand Auction will be held at Nelson Central Methodist Church, in Carr Road, on Friday, March 2.
People are asked to donate items such as antiques, glass and china, art, household items, sports equipment or anything in good condition.
The Extra Mile Appeal was launched last October and churches across Pendle agreed to work together and each set themselves a target of £1,000.
Organisers hope to raise a minimum of £40,000 by Christmas 2001 to go towards the replacement of Central Methodist Church.
The auction will start at 7pm, with viewing beginning an hour earlier. Anyone with items for the auction should call Pat Peddie on 01282 615716, Neville Chadwick on 614716 or Elaine Linford on 439104.
