CREATIVE students at Park High School in Colne were asked to design a new range of pizza.

Nelson-based fresh topped pizza specialist, Canadian Pizza, teamed up with East Lancashire Education Business Partnerships (EBP) to provide the 13-year-olds with a brief to design a pizza that would appeal to young children and teenagers.

The idea was organised by Year nine teachers, Mrs I'Anson and Mr Birch, as part of the local 'Creativity in Science and Technology' awards (CREST).

CREST awards are co-ordinated by Ken Read of EBP who is in charge of science, engineering and technology for schools in Pendle and funding was by the government through the Pendle Partnership.

The culinary creations will be judged by staff over the next couple of months and all the pupils will receive a CREST certificate, with the best winning a £25 voucher for a high street store.

Mick Walton, operations manager at Canadian Pizza, said: "We were very impressed with the quality of the designs that were produced.

"Everyone involved should be really proud of the hard work they put into the project.
