COMMUNITY groups have the chance to learn how to save lives.
The Ribble Valley branch of the Red Cross wants community groups such as Young Farmers' Clubs, Women's Institutes, or parish councils to get involved with the scheme.
In the past the Red Cross has gone out into the community to give single two-hour lessons on basic life support including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, otherwise known as the kiss of life. They are also taught how to control severe bleeding and give reassurance to victims of shock.
The next Save-a-Life session is at Whitewell Village Hall tomorrow from 8pm to 10pm.
Red Cross members are willing to run training courses in venues around the Valley, or in their HQ in Back King Street, Clitheroe.
