HUNDREDS of pounds worth of damage was caused to cars during a vandalism blitz in the London Terrace area of Darwen.
Today police appealed for local people to help them track down the young culprits -- just days after officers spoke at local schools to warn children that bad behaviour would not be tolerated.
Det Sgt Neil Hunter said the vehicles, two Vauxhall Cavaliers, two Nissan Micras and a Seat had body panels kicked in, wing mirrors smashed and body work scratched on Friday and Saturday nights.
A further incident on Kay Street, when £100 of damage was caused to a blue Ford Focus which had body panels kicked, may also be related.
DS Hunter said: "We believe all of these incidents were committed by the same people and we have arrested a 16-year-old but he has been released on police bail pending further inquiries because we believe other people were involved."
Anyone with information about the incidents can contact Darwen CID on 01254 353842.
